Maia upstand

Afternoon.
Have had a kitchen refit with maia work tops and up stands, but some
of the cut ends of the maia upstands look like they need finishing.
The upstands are only supplied in 3680mm lengths, so there will always be some cut ends.
Is my kitchen fitter cutting corners as he is saying that is how they all are.
They have just been left as a cut end.
