PPI First Plus Cashback

Hi, I have found out recently that my mum had a first plus loan. She claimed the cash back a few years ago, but this was done through a claims company. However, this was clearly a con, she was going to be offered the cash back anyway, as it's part of the package with first plus.
Would stand anywhere trying to get the £3000 they took from her? They actually did nothing but ask for cash back, which was already part of the policy agreement. They got £12000 back and she gave £3000.
Thank you for your help

I highly doubt it, because these claim companies, do offer a service, albeit one not really required. But it does offer an option for those who aren't confident enough to claim for themselves, or who have several claims and can't be bothered to make the claims themselves.
I have mates who have gone through claim companies and I tell them they are mad, but they say, I can't be bothered with doing it myself and if I get anything back it's a bonus.
In short, she used their services, which they provided, it's just they charge a high fee for it.0 -

It sounds like they made a complaint of mis-selling on your Mother's behalf. If this was successful, your Mother agreed to pay them a huge percentage of redress awarded.
This would only be worth persevering with if you could show that this was NOT redress, but part of a "cash back" scheme.0
