Strong ground over weed control?
Need a bit of advice, I have a crazy paving drive and back patio, and a rather long drive wih slate/gravel and grass around it.
Since I moved in 2 years ago both have been a nightmare to keep weed free, grass and weeds are growing across the edges of the drive and through the cracks everywhere in the paving.
I tried a pump spray weed control last year (bottles of something that I diluted into a 2 litre pump spray) it worked ok on the paving but was patchy and the drive is shrinking rapidly having found this to have no effect.
Does anyone have any good suggestions?

Glyphosate or a flame gun.0

I second a flame gun. We bought ours from Wilkinsons for about £20 iirc plus around £5 for the gas canister. It works on ground elder to a certain extent. So it will certainly get rid of the sort of weeds you are troubled with.0

Good tip on the flame gun! It seems to take forever with a spray, even the ones that you pump to get a continuous spray. And I love a good gadget!0

Makes mental note to check out YouTube, which surely must have some videos on there of people using flameguns. Think I'd feel more than a little nervous at the thought of using something like that myself.....are they totally accident-proof?
Meanwhile, it's back to the Mypex weed control fabric I've been laying out cash on for my garden.....at least I'm not going to worry whether I'd set something on fire inadvertently I suppose...0 -
With a flame gun, you don't actually burn the weeds off, you pass the hot flame very quickly over the weeds so that the cells burst. If you keep the flame on them until they burst into flames, it's a waste of gas.0
