Old Style Daily Thread Sunday 30th March

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Half the clocks in this house are on the correct time and the rest aren't. Totally confusing so will get DH to sort them as soon as he gets up from a well deserved lie in.
Overnight load of washing is on the line and second lot is in the machine. It's cloudy but looks to stay dry so will give it a go.
Slow cooked Thai beef curry for dinner tonight so will do the preparation for that soon. Need to do a few bits of shopping for fresh veg but the freezer looks very healthy so not much spend required.
Happy Mothers Day to all the OS mums and those of us who are remembering our own mum today :happylove
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning all,
Happy Mother's day to all us Mums. It's a mixed feeling day today, nice to be appreciated as Mum but sad because I miss my mum.
WM is on, loaded with DS2's stuff! Off to wash the caravan today and I am not looking forward to it!
Not sure what's for tea tonight.
Have an enjoyable day0 -
Morning All
Special thoughts to all on Mother's Day, a happy day for some but difficult for others.
Belated happy birthday to Judi.
The weather here is much like yesterday, overcast but dry, managed to get 3 loads of washing nearly dried outside yesterday, hoping for the same again today. I have DS2s new bedding in so it's not as harsh as when it comes out of the packet - it's red so you can imagine what the inside of the machine looks like just now! Certainly not the weather some of you had yesterday, enjoy it while you can.
I was unbelievably busy yesterday, took DD to the station, put 3 loads of washing on the line, cleaned the 2 bathrooms, dusted and hovered throughout, wrapped and sent DS2s suit, dismantled one bed and put it up again in another room, built DDs new bed, dragged a shelving unit upstairs, went to the tip with the wrapping, did the ironing and sat down about 8. I had to wait till after 12 to pick up DD (she was out in Glasgow). Hoping for a quieter day today. MUST do the paperwork!
Roast chicken for dinner tonight, feel like it's ages since I cooked a proper meal.
Hope you all have a lovely Sunday, take care. XX0 -
Morning all,
Happy Mothering Sunday 💐
My mum is calling for an hour but she has been invited to my brothers for lunch which is nice as it doesn't happen very often.
Already had a nice bunch of flowers from my son in Australia, pjs and a a birchbox subscription from my daughter and lovely grandson.
My middle son called last night with a pretty cake slice to match my Cath kidson cake stand as they are in Stratford at his gf mums today. I've yet to see my youngest but yesterday I was promised a curry for my lunch
Quick breakfast and tidy round before nipping to the retail park with my daughter and then back for mums visit.
Hoping for a restful afternoon reading through my old Ww magazines and catching up with some tv.
Have a lovely restful day whatever you do xxStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning all
Fish fed, there is a corpse in there, I'll fish it out after they've eaten. Hubby has his 2nd cuppa in bed, he worked so hard y'day at work & then came home & worked in the garden. I woke him with his 1st cuppa this morning for a little 'Hestering' & now he's asleep again, lol.
I have the 1st load of washing on the line & 2nd lot in the machine & I got 2 loads dry yesterday. I need to iron hubby's work uniform later.
DD1 came over y'day & bought a cream tea with her I laid the table with a cloth & teaset & we had own mothers day together then.
Hubby & I went out for a meal last night with friends, it was nice but bloody expensive, but we don't go out often so it wasn't a problem.
I need to have another scrumage through my stash, I've cut up some summer skirts that I can no longer wear, some I'm turning into a quilt & some I shall turn into summer dresses,
Time I made a start on breakfast.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Hi everyone,
I earned my OS credentials yesterday. DD had invited 2 friends for lunch she informed me at 11.00am (and vegetarian). I had a celeriac sitting in the fridge which had been there for weeks so I used that with three leftover apples to make celeriac and apple soup in the pressure cooker. Then I made a bean salad with griddled courgette, asparagus (69p in Aldi this week), red onions and a balsamic dressing. Delicious, even though I do say so myself and the 10 month old loved the soup, her mum said she'd been refusing everything except yogurt all week.
I gave the mum a couple of patchwork books because she teaches textiles and wants to build a library for her students.
Plan a lazy day today with DD.

Morning all. Happy Mother's Day to all OS mum's and to me. I will see DD later not sure about DS. My Mum should hopefully have received her card - bought, not homemade, but sent 2nd class - will check with a quick phone call later.
We made the most of the sunshine here yesterday and hung the washing outside to dry and will do the same today hopefully. All ironing done this morning - using solar power from the panels. Batch cooked mince yesterday and froze 2 portions for future use and hopefully going to try the carrot and lentil soup later for my lunches at work.
Got my other mini greenhouse out of the shed and need to get sowing; hopefully later. Morning all,
Well me and BF are still feeling under the weather, I have the most annoying cough ever where its not shifting anything, just constant tickling and now my ribs are hurting from the non stop cough! Still we didn't let it stop us enjoying the lovely weather yesterday and went off to a local National Trust property and to the attached farm which had lots of lovely lambs to see springing around :j
Then back home and made a north african inspired chilli for a bit of a change. Lots of lovely spices (but not too hot) and chickpeas instead of kidney beans. Enough for some more tonight too and possibly a lunch on Monday :T
3rd wash of the weekend in the WM at the moment, and the flat is pretty tidy, just needs the vacuum running round. Having a pottering day today mainly, trying to rest up in preparation for the working week, I'm never quite unwell enough for a day off!
Welcome to mummymaria and welcome back to N9eav lovely to 'meet' you
Happy Mother's day to all Mums out there :happylove
And finally a belated happy birthday to Judi and little Asher _party_
Right, off to sort out some nibbles for lunch, bound to be something in the fridge to use up.
Have a lovely Sunday, whatever you are doing

Good afternoon, all.
Just having a sit down, after clearing two shelves of ancient books, maps and all sorts of rubbish. Fighting with OH to throw one in three, loads of junk that he wants to keep!
Still he has booked the local posh Chinese for a late Mother's Day lunch when DD arrives.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Afternoon everyone
Happy Mothers Day everyone :happylove hope everyone has a happy day. Thinking of everyone who might be missing someone special xx
Have been out for a walk with Luna and the family. Lovely warm morning
Currently relaxing on the sofa but will need to shift my backside soon and mow the lawns and do some weeding.
If anyone is interested I managed to snap pics of three lovely deer the other week over the fields where I walk Luna. They are in the usual place (I have started the blog up again).
Hubby is cracking on with the ironing bless him.
The usual roast for tea. We ate out last night instead of today and as usual DS refused to eat anything on the menu except chips. Now I remember why we rarely eat out all together.
Hugs and spoons all round, hope you all have a lovely Sunday xxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
