bluetooth vs plugging a headset into a cordless home phone and need phone recommended

Ok my Mum is a telephone interpreter and we just can't find the right kit despite trying stuff.

As part of her job she has to 'call out' to bring a third party into the call and this involves tapping keys on her phone.

Obviously she is on the phone a LOT so i want to get her a headset but am i right in thinking plugging a headset into a phone with a socket will still allow her to use the phones keypad?

As opposed to going completely wireless where there is generally a button or two you have to press to transfer back to the phone, then again to transfer back to the headset again.

The first option sounds much easier but if i'm correct are there pros and cons to plugging into the phone vs going wireless with bluetooth? Maybe to do with the call quality or anything else?

Also we tried the top range Gigaset that won a which? award and the volume was to low for international calls and the headset to small for her to be comfortable.

I really want a phone that can stand alone if she doesn't like the headset but can have the option of a headset too.

I feel like i'm banging my head against a wall so any help appreciated!
We are going shopping tomorrow and i'm dreading it a little.

On size it seems BT generally have it right.

It's DECT but not bluetooth and I don't know if it has a socket that you can just plug the headset into as well. *sigh* :o
