Court money claim query

I am the claimant in a case for an unpaid debt. The defendant had until a week ago to respond. I have heard nothing from him or the court. Does the defendant have to send me a copy of what he has, if anything, sent to the court or can I assume he is ignoring the issue and ask for judgement straight away?

The defendant should send documents to the court, not to you the claimant. I wouldn't assume that because you haven't heard for one week after the deadline for the defendants response, that the claim hasn't been defended or counter claimed- a notice of allocation to the small claims court might be on its way to you. The court process will run its course- however I guess there's no harm in applying for a judgment in default at this stage if you wanted to set that ball rolling.0

Did you do the claim online or in the local CC?0
