Can someone please advise what I need to do,, I have just sent the second letter threatening to take nationwide to court as they refused my first claim. I was about to take them to court or go to the financial ombusman as I have heard nothing further, but I have realised that I have requested over 6 years by mistake. I.e I have requested charges to be refunded from 31/07/2007 back to 30/11/2000, when should have only gone back as far as 30/03/2001. Please can someone advise whether I should write to Nationwide explaining the mistake and write to them again re-claiming the correct amount?

The reason for the timescale being 6 years is that the time period set is limited by law.
I would suggest removing the charges from 30/03/2001 previous and recalculating to the correct date which in your case is 30/03/2001.
It may be a bit time consuming but you want to make sure you are claiming for the correct amount including interest.
You could then write to Nationwide and explain the mistake, give them a further 14 days to come up with an acceptable offer and if they don't move on to the the step.
 Hope this helps,
Good luck with your claim.NATWEST Amount Claimed £2860 Amount Received £2860
