What's the best way to clean a polypropylene rug please?

I have a large cream polypropylene rug, with a beige Greek Key border (yes I know, but it does brighten the room!), and though it doesn't have any food stains, it has dirt stains, and it's looking grubby.
I've dried Vanish, and even a weak bleach solution, but it's not making any difference. Does anyone have any suggestions (other than to not buy a cream rug again!) for cleaning this please?
Thanks.

Polypropylene is a plastic so the chances of getting it to appear cleaner are almost nil. The only thing I can think MAY help is dilute washing powder. Sorry can't be more of a help.Saving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

Have you tried a proprietary carpet cleaner such as 1001?Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Do you know anybody with a steam cleaner you can borrow? I find a decent steam cleaner gets to grips with so many stains.
If no steam cleaner, have you tried Ace fabric bleach? A brilliant product I wouldn't be without, it has tackled all sorts of stains on clothing etc.for me.
My sister told me she tried some on a urine stain she found on the mattress in her spare room after her grandson wet the bed & Ace bleach managed to get rid of the stain completely. It is perfectly safe to use on fabrics, including wool, as well as upholstery. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Hire a professional carpet cleaner. If any stain you have tried to remove with vanish etc is still there then you have most likely set the stain and it cannot now be removed. Had you hired a carpet cleaner a basic clean would have removed the dirt.0

Wow - Ace really lives up to its name! It removed all the spot stains, and I then made up a diluted solution, applied that all over, and it looks like new.
Thank you very much for all the advice.
