Sky arrears?

I cancelled a Sky subscription about 18 months due to moving home. Long story short: they mistakenly didn't cancel my account, I was told I might owe some money, I complained, they said they would send details if any payment was required. The matter seemed resolved.

I had not heard anything in all this time. Sky had my contact details, and there was a postal redirection in place for a year. I heard nothing.

Today, I received an email from a company called Zinc, claiming an outstanding (small) amount of money, and highlighting this will be the last communication from them as they have not been able to contact me, and the matter will be referred back to the claimant: Sky.

It seems odd that the first correspondence from them would be one informing me they have not been succesful in contacting me.

I will contact Sky to confirm the details of this matter, but in the meantime, I was wondering whether anyone has had similar experiences. Does this activity appear suspicious?

Thanks.

Not suspicious at all. Just incompetence from Sky and the debt-collectors they passed it to. I should have guessed.
