Thanks everyone for your opinions and advice.
I have decided to go for the one that I linked to above.
Not a bad price, I managed to get Disconnection and recycling of my old one, plus delivery (tomorrow) and installation of my new one, for £3030 -
If this is a family washer then its worth spending more money on or it will likely be finish in a couple of years due to the strain. There is only so much you can do with regard to engineering and build quality in a £300 washer..Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

I see your point, but I was told the same thing when I bought my old washer and only spent £180 on it. It lasted almost 13 years without any problems at all (apart from now obviously). Besides, I have made my purchase now and am very happy with it0 -
Which have a bit of a habit of catering to a middle class readership and opting for the best at any price, but these are currently listed as best buys in the £250-£300 price range:
Hotpoint WMFG631P UK £268
Hotpoint WMEF742P £253
Hotpoint WMEF742G £257
Samsung WF80F5E5U4W Ecobubble comes top at of the lot at £550
Bosch WAQ28461GB scores well at £418
A lot of the other top ones are £700-£1100
Miele and Bosch score best for reliability (at a price), Hoover worst. Beko is more reliable than Hotpoint, but they don't list a Beko among the best buys. My Hotpoint has had four breakdowns in 14 years. They haven't tested the Beko you're looking at, but there are a lot of 'Don't Buys' among the ones they have tested. The common criticisms seem to be poor wash, not easy to use, greedy with water, slow, noisy.
The Samsung washer above is now £369 from Currys!0 -
I swear by Bosch too. Have been very, very pleased with my washing machine and dishwasher. Both are now 14 years old. But then I have looked after them.(I just lurve spiders!)
