Temporary incapacity

On a point of immediate personal interest, what is the position of a person who finds him (or her) self temporarily (please don't let it be too many more weeks!) on crutches and unable to drive when the person's partner stops to
1 Let him out of the car
2 Park to go shopping with him
And how does this vary by public road and private car parks.
I suspect i know the answers, being a regular here, but want to check.
Also in respect of reasonable adjustments for times (crutches being a slow form of transport).

I'm sure CM will be along to confirm, but as I understand it, a temporary illness/injury etc is NOT a 'Protected Characteristic', so would not statutorily qualify for 'reasonable adjustment' under the EA 2010.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Yup - On the face of it, the Equality Act won't apply here, either on public or private property. They draw the line at a condition lasting a year or more.
What caused the incapacity? That may affect matters.
As for reasonable adjustment times - as long as it takes. more or less. I was incredibly slow and limited in movement for a long time following my surgery and that had to be considered.0 -

...is the correct answer.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

So, a leg in plaster is not a reasonable excuse for rushing back to your car to avoid a ticket then.
Whereas long term back backs, have not worked for ten years benefit bludgers who do a bit of football refereeing at the week end, get away with it.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
