Took my dogs out for their walk this afternoon and I noticed a wasp landed on my dog Jack's back.
I had an empty carrier bag with me and flipped it at the wasp but it stayed where it was.
So I flipped it harder as I didn't want it to sting my dog. He cowered away from me as if he gets battered every day of his life...trust me, he most certainly doesn't, but he must've wondered what on earth was happening!
At that point a cop car pulled up and the cop asked me what I was doing abusing my dog:eek:
I explained about the wasp which had chosen that moment to do one.
The cop checked my dog over for injuries he thought I'd inflicted on him, and of course found none. Told me he would leave it at that - for now - and drove away clearly thinking I was a dog beating psycho.
Not the most relaxing of dog walks...!:)

I'm sorry you had that experience but I'm really impressed the police took the time to stop and find out what was really going on.
And glad no one got stung!0 -
Oh I'm sorry zaksmum, but I did chortle! Well done the local constabulary though for stopping.Total debt £20,000 Northern Rock loan:eek:

Oh dear!
Dogs always find a way to embarrass you, they're so sneaky they'll even collude with wasps and then act all innocent.
Nice to know that if somebody was really hurting their dog, they wouldn't have got away with it though.0 -
never one around when you NEED one though is there zaksmum?0

Can't blame the cop I suppose, thinking how it must've looked...poor Jack was astonished that I was suddenly attacking him when he was minding his own business and gave an Oscar-worthy cringe, tremble and cower performance!
The cop must have thought he had an easy arrest - far less hassle than bothering with smackheads knocking an old lady over for her pension.
Be nice to think, though, that anyone who really was kicking seven bells out of a poor dog on the street could expect to have their collar felt as quickly!0 -
I'm assuming you or the dog were doing over 30 mph and that's why they paid any attention to you.

Or maybe they thought the dog hadn't paid his TV licence:)0 -
I once nudged one of mine with the edge of my foot, as he'd ground to a halt, his mind had wandered and his selective deafness had come to visit (he has this habit!) and I just wanted to draw his attention back to the fact we were moving off again. I barely made contact with his fur, let alone his skin, but he decided to collapse to the ground as though I'd booted him full force. Just as two old ladies walked past!
As soon as they were past, the dog looked up and me and grinned, as if to say "Did you see what they thought? They thought you kicked me!"Egg Loan - [strike]£4921.84[/strike] £0!! :j Barclaycard - £3866.47 Legal + Trade - [strike]£2700.96[/strike] £0!! :j Triton - [strike]£1730.89[/strike] £0!! :j Next - [STRIKE]£776.15[/STRIKE] £126.88 Littlewoods - [strike]£217.16[/strike] £0!! :j Housemate - [strike]£1300[/strike] £0!! :j Capital One - [STRIKE]£1652.51[/STRIKE] £1,081.58 Vanquis - [strike]£2337.75[/strike] £375.58

So did I:rotfl:
I have a hound that's a rescue from what must have been an abusive home. She's been with us for 10 years, but can still manage the full 'don't beat me, you evil owner' at the drop of a hat.:o0
