I also don't understand how people are retweeting the same comp up to 100 times (and I have seen this) and are not suspended

    I don't understand that either...!

I normally RT rather than cut and paste, but I do make sure I RT every one of the tweets the company shares about the competition that tell you to RT. That way, you would still get multiple entries, without needing to tweet the same words... :)

ETA - sometimes, the older the account, the more lenient Twitter seems to be.

It must have been retweets of separate tweets. You can't retweet the same thing twice.

Or copying and pasting into a new Tweet multiple times...
  • well I am going to try and enter a few this evening so I will see if I am suspended again. My worry is that if I won (highly unlikely though with my luck at the mo) would be that they would take the twitter off me for good and I wouldn't be able to be notified. I have even stayed up all night and entered hoping I wouldn't offend anyone in the uk. This is my only hobby so I am finding it so frustrating.

Don't worry about offending anyone: they can unfollow if they don't like what you're posting, especially as it's set up as your one for comping.

I would set up another Twitter account on a different email address (you're allowed multiple TW accounts, unlike FB). That one you can use when / if the other is suspended, and also just to keep it ticking over and once it's a mature account, you can use it as much as you like, and the risk will be lower of it being suspended because it's that much older and you won't look like a spambot who has just joined to create havoc :)

ETA - incidentally, you're sure it's a suspension, rather than just the temporary 'Twitter jail' for posting too many things in a certain period of time?

You don't need to stay up at night, you haven't been reported by someone you've "offended",your repeat posts have been registered by Twitters bots and marked as possible spam.Don't worry about getting suspended once they realise you are not a bot they'll let you back.
  • no its definitely suspension. I was able to just click to say that I would no longer spam twice but on the 3rd occasion I had to actually email them tog et it lifted. I am back on at the moment but don't know how long for if I continue to enter :(

Like I said, set up another account - and don't worry about it being suspended, as it's usually a short amount of time that it will go off for, and the likelihood of you a) winning and b) being notified while suspended is very small :)

dont worry ,keep sending them nice polite emails and try to slow down comping after that ,they will reinstate after two or three weeks ,happened to my daughters account thats why i know for sure ...she was using only twitaculous ...i guess some companies dont like that

Kamaya, there is no where to write my argument as to why I am supposedly spamming, can you remember where you sent it?

I contacted them using this link when they suspended me... https://support.twitter.com/forms/general?subtopic=suspended

They then replied saying why I was suspended, I replied saying that my tweets weren't unsolicited as the accounts I was contacting were encouraging interaction.

    Had no problems since!

  • well I have been comping for a few days again since getting reinstated and everything was going fine. Today I tried to use Twitaculous again and was suspended within 10 minutes of using it, so, I have now come to the conclusion that's what is causing me problems. I have used the link that Kamaya has sent and have told them exactly what you did so hopefully this will work.
