Data backup

Hello everyone.
I have been meaning to sort out some backup for a while as I have about 100GB of photos on my computer plus a tonne of music as well.
I was thinking of just getting a basic USB external HDD with 1TB of storage. But after looking online have been tempted by the wireless HDD. There is a 2TB seagate version online for £100. We would like to eventually have at home a wireless speaker system for watching films but also playing music. We have a macbook pro and a desktop PC and at the moment just use a 250GB external HDD to share files for both devices. I have found a 500GB ext HDD for £32 so my question is, do people think it is worth spending the extra £70 on the wireless HDD? has anyone had any experience of using them?
Thanks for any advice
Danny

If that's the Seagate drive I think it is, you should probably read the user reviews at http://www.amazon.co.uk/Seagate-STCG2000200-Central-Wireless-Drive/dp/B00BP5RJ76/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1396024180&sr=1-2&keywords=wireless+hard+drive.
It may not actually do what you think (i.e. operate autonomously without wires). I suspect that NAS devices are one area where you really get what you pay for and for £100 you don't get very much.0 -
I have one of these and it is fine for what it is which is essentially an external drive you connect to your router rather than via USB.
If you want more, suggest you pay more0
