repossession

hi i am new to the forum but hope someone can help me!!!

I like in a housing assoc house and they have just been to court to reposses the house..due to falling behind with the rent

stupidly We didnt attend the court hearing as my son was unwell and we didnt realise we had to be there ..

We are waiting for the court papers to arrive now.. We know we can appeal but does anyone else no what else we can do ?? I am at my wits end as we live miles away from family and we also have a 6 year old son..

I emailed the rent officer to ask him today about my options ..and all he said was wait for the court papers and then we will discuss.. which doesnt really help..

any help would be appreciated

thanks

  • Maybe I'm not the best person to give you advice ! I spend a lot of my time ejecting tenants who run into rent arrears.

You could contact your local citizens advice bureau for advice

Contact a solicitor, talk to them regarding making an appeal

Explain your dilemma to your local council they can advise you if you are to be made homeless.

when seeking legal advice, I would only use one of your excuses for missing the court date.

If you didn't know you were supposed to attend court, your son being ill was irrelevant.
Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.
