Npower - receiving bills when on pre-payment meter
In the middle of May 2013, I had a tenant move out of a property I let out. So I had registered my name for the npower account.
In June, I had pre-payment meters installed for the gas and electricity. I think I should only have been billed from May till June. But the bill sent to me runs from May to 1st September. Also I have been receiving reminder letters which have no specified dates, even though I hadn't received the bill which was mentioned in the letter.
I got two account numbers for my rented house. I have no idea why they made two accounts under my name.
Account A
PAYG for electricity
Account B
Standard for electric and gas
I have received bills for both accounts. The total came to over £50 so I decided to pay it off, thinking that would be it. But today I received another final bill for Account B totaling £25. I contacted npower and the advisor told me to ignore the bill. They will send another bill out with the accurate total. But I don't believe them with all the trouble they caused me. Also they claim not to have any records of the bills they sent out.
1st September 2013 is when a new tenant moved into the property and registered their name to use the pre-payment meters. She has been receiving gas bills ranging from £30 to £800. I'm guessing the total is over £1000 by now.
I don't understand why npower continue to send bills out even though the property is using pre-payment meters. We both have tried contacting npower since last year but still nothing has been done to solve the problem. The emails and letters I sent to them continue to be ignored. The advisor on the helpine is useless. I just no idea how to get this sorted out.

Hello nuvolari7,
Thank you for your post.
If you can send me more details over on an email regarding your account and details (tenancy agreements) for those that you rented the property to I will be able to amend the accounts for the specific time periods into the correct names.
Regarding having two accounts, when you had the prepayment meters fitted your old dual fuel account would have separated as the meter charges for the gas and electric are different so you account will have switched to a twin fuel account.
I will await your mail.
Thanks
