Windows 8.1 - MS Updates after this causing problems?

Win 8.1 upgrade went ok, but it looks like one of the post-8.1 updates has caused the lappy to loop between the desktop and the metro screen. Have had to resort to full restore prior to re-applying 8.1 ...

question is, has anyone else come across this??

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

    No. Haven't had this problem.

    Run a refresh. The problem is caused by a process called Thumbnail Handler Extraction starting itself over and over.


    If you press ctrl+alt+delete while it's doing that, then go to the power icon in the bottom right, then hold down shift and click 'Restart', it'll go into recovery mode which will let you refresh the system.


    It seems to be happening a fair amount this week, and I'm not sure why.

    nice one Esqui.. had already gone to do the full system restore to pre-8.1, and was going to do the post-8.1 updates ne by one, just haven't been able to nail down which one it was that's causing it...if yu happen on a particular kb, please share ;):)
