Hi everyone,

I need some advice please if anyone can help.

I left Ecar insurance in October last year and was informed that there wasn't any charges for the changes I made.

I have then left Ecar and gone to a diff company thinking everything was fine, I've received a letter this week from Ecar stating I owe them £55.97.

Now it's not a lot of money, but my point it, they told me I didn't owe anything and on emailing them they have admitted that it was their fault as they had only realised this due to an end of year audit.

This is a fault on their part and not Milne, but are demanding payment for this and say they have 6 years to chase the debt.

I don't want this to make me blacklisted on insurance which will make it more difficult to find cheaper insurance in the future.

Can anybody help?

The only blacklisting they can do is either (1) retrospective cancelling the policy or (2) taking you to court of the debt and if you dont pay then a CCJ gets registered against you

Both of those are very unlikely for them to do.

Ultimately register a complaint, give the details of when you were told that nothing was due and ask for a transcript of that call. If you dont get what you want then take the matter to the FOD
