    Good morning everyone,

I hope you are all okay.

I've been struggling to find time to shop or post lately. I just thought I'd say hello before disappearing for a while again.

We've been trying to sell our house for a couple of years with no luck so we are going to let it instead. We found the perfect house for us to move to so made an offer but then I found out I was going to lose my job.

Luckily I started a new job last week (smaller salary but with a big Asda and Tesco Extra within walking distance:j ). On the down side I'm only allowed to use the internet for business reasons so I'm going to find it hard to keep track of any glitches that you wonderful people keep finding.

My luck must be changing though as the two horses I picked in the office sweepstake were the winner and runner up.

Well done on the new job:T

Gotta get out and grab a few bits down Lidl, then see how the weather is going to decide whether we will get our Sunday walk or not. CU later :D

    Snap!

Good evening folks, just done a massive catchup :)

Imdebtfree, sorry to hear about Rolo xx

Is there a link or pic of this cake please? Last time I searched I could only find lemon cheesecake, or is that the one? TIA

I asked OH as he works in IT. His advise was "give concise answers to questions and don't waffle". I'm not sure if it's just him or if lots of IT people have an aversion to waffle :D

Hmm wonder if anyone would be interested in Manchester twigs, could be a nice little earner  :rotfl:

I know the feeling, it took me a while to find it. I am technically incapable of putting a picture up. But it is near the cakes (which is near to the bread), in my shop it was on the top shelf with the other posh asd* cakes. It is not huge, but very tasty x

So now I'm trying to reduce some of our outgoings because if everything goes to plan then our family will be moving to a new house in a couple of months time.

First thing I've done today is reduce our Sky package by £30 a month. I've now just got the basic entertainment package. I was going to cancel it completely but I don't think I'd be too popular if I lost the kids channels. Also my wife and I are looking forward to the new series of Game of Thrones which starts tomorrow.

Next thing is renewing our car insurance for our two cars. Got one premium on my car reduced by £120 using top cash back comparison but I can't get my wife's premium on her car any lower. I keep trying different sites but no luck so far. It's a bit of a pain having to keep inputting the same details. It doesn't help that I have to be a named driver on her policy and I have a couple of driving offences that I have to declare

Great news that things are positive.

    :)

Have you thought about savings elsewhere?

Paying line rental upfront? Haggling with your broadband provider for cheaper internet? Selling old tat on eBay or Gumtree?

Last week I thought I'd clear my rubbish shoes out along with my Mum's and boyfriend's. You know the type, the ones with holes and flappy soles. :rotfl:

I managed to get someone to collect about 20 pairs that had built up in the shed and no-one had worn for years; they gave me £10 for the lot (they paid 60p per kg).

    :T

What about maxing out any savings or earnings that you have/make? Have you thought about 5% current accounts and 6% regular savers? ;):D;)

I'm fed up of the car insurance quotes now.

One other thing, I have some eVouchers to use before they expire and I was going to get some of the £1 anchor 200g grated cheese that I saw mentioned. It's £2.38 on the website so I assume that's the in store price now.

Anyone got any tips on what's a good price in Sada at the moment. I was thinking of getting a couple of bottles of 1L Baileys for £12 but it seems a bit of a waste seeing as though I have to be more careful with my pennies from now on.

    Thanks,

Legs of lamb are £4/kg currently in Shasda.

    Great price.

Although the only downside is that they're from New Zealand (if that matters to you).

What about using them on staples that you will eventually need, such as preserves, condiments, stock, flour, etc?

Thanks Karlie, some good tips there. I'm looking at everything at the moment.

I have already done the line rental up front. We've definitely got loads of tat that I could do with getting rid of before we move house as it's going to take ages to transfer it all. I might do a car boot at some point.

My shed is still full of cobra and I store most of my other stash in our garage.
The really good thing about our new house is that it has a triple garage so I'll have lots of storage space and I might be able to get a second freezer :j

Which of course you'll either get for free from freecycle or dirt cheap from eBay/Gumtree.
