Alarms are set, a selection of drinks and snacks are on hand because he always wakes up hungry, his toilet light will be left on from 11pm (because he'll need a visit before he embarks on the drinking and snacking)
And best of all I have had to swear on oath to be available at the precise moment to check everything capable of having the time on it has changed and to change any that haven't.
He's also suggested, out of the kindness of his heart, that all mobile phones should be surrendered to him before bedtime so that he doesn't wake anyone up on his sweep of the house to check everything is showing the correct time.
    *sigh* :o :rotfl:
Most phones change themselves now, or does he just need to check that they have changed?

i had an embarrassing moment in asda and its all that sfsb fault; inspired by his little bits of veg that I asked him about recently I did the same tiny bit of parsnip, carrot, a grape etc
I must have got the world's smallest carrot in last night's shop; the SA couldn't get the till to recognise its existence to weigh it - I told her I was making coleslaw for one:)

willowwispy have you got 11 men to go in the dressing gowns? ;)

Speaking of men- got a friend request on FB from a man who hurt me very much a few years ago. It's very strange. We've not spoken since 2011. I quickly looked at his profile and he seems to have a new girlfriend who is quite young. He had many girlfriends during the four years he messed me about.

Maybe he's trying to show off? We've never been FB friends so I'm perplexed! Men, eh? Ignoring the request obv as he's a massive male chicken

:rotfl::rotfl: I wish Emma....but on the other hand having 1 to clean up after is enough :rotfl::rotfl:

    OT - any advice welcomed...

DS is moving schools this year, he's 12 in June. His old school had an after school/nursery that ran until 6pm. The new school appears to have after school clubs like football but no formal homework club to keep an eye on him.

He tells me he is too old to go to the childminders any more, I don't have any friends or family who could take him after school, and I don't want him roaming the streets all evening or sat home alone.

I'm currently self employed and work my own hours so it's not a problem, but I had it in my head that I'd go back to having a proper job when he started big school. Only problem is that if I do then there's three hours between him finishing school and me getting home.

Does anyone have any suggestions of age appropriate supervised childcare for a 12 yr old? Or am I better off waiting a few years before going back to work proper?

This is a very difficult decision.

With my three I always picked them up from school as this was the best one on one time we had, chatting on the way home in the car without the distractions of TV etc. Some times we went to a caf! for a drink on the way home which was also a good place for chats :)

We were very luck y in having a high school which had a range of after school activities run by the school so quite often I was bringing 1 home and leaving the other behind to collect at 4.30 or 5. Also our school had the library open after school until 4 or 4.30
