PPI refund and IVA

I have got myself in a mess. When I took out my IVA last year I disclosed that I had made several unsuccessful attempts to reclaim PPI from Nat west credit card. My Supervisor recommended a partner company who could take forward a claim. Out of the blue I get a letter from Nat West with an offer. Does anyone know if they are simply paying out now?
I don't know if this offer is a result of my own efforts or the claims company or both. There reason I went with the claims company was that advice given by my supervisor indicated that I would get to keep the first £1000 so I feel a bit conned as my new supervisor says all monies must be paid to the IVA less fees for the CMC. I was hoping to help pay my divorce costs as my solicitor is hounding me for more money. I understand that the creditors want to maximise on what they can get from an IVA and when I contacted supervisor I was told that PPI is classed as an asset rather than a windfall. I have reviewed my IVA which states the only asset included in my arrangement is any equity in my property. I am at a loss what to do. Help!!
