Sale contract but no house valuation?

  • Nobody is going to telling your solicitor when the buyer's mortgage valuation is happening.

As far as he is concerned when you've signed the sale contract he is ready to proceed - doesn't mean that the buyer is also ready.

As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.

Good news the valuation finally happened today.

Does anyone know how long the process takes to highlight any problems arising from the valuation?

Finally been given an Exchange and Completion date :D Is it unusual for them to be 2 days apart?

Well that went a lot smoother than I was expecting, the house has just completed :D

It has taken almost 7 years for this sale to happen so to say I'm pleased would be an understatement!

And me, I've been trying to get this house sold or out of my name since July 2007. With various lies and delay tactics along the way at times I've wondered if it would ever go!

I wonder what the longest time it's taken for a house to be sold or removed from someone's name after a relationship break up when it was agreed at the time of break up it would happen within 6 months!
