PPI scams. As anyone been had by request for UKASH request?

Options
Hi ..can anyone give any advice... I was pressured into completing a PPI claims recently over the phone. They had details of a Nat west loan and despite me saying that I had already claimed, was told that their records showed an outstanding PPI was due.
After much pressure I gave in and agreed for a claim Pack to be sent. This was from claims advisory group and all I did was sign the information that had been filled in.
I have had a call today from someone claiming to be PPI claims and that they had a cheque for over £2,000 but I needed to pay £100 via UKASH and call back with the reference numbers before the cheque could be delivered to my home later in the day. At this point I became suspicious and contacted my bank who have reported that I had no loan at that specific time and amount and no outstanding PPI .
I am now concerned that CAG still have my claim and may request monies for a PPI claim that is non existent. I have reported to action fraud but not sure what else to do..has anyone else had any problems like this?

Blatant lie. your details are not in the public domain and banks do not work that way.

They are trying advance fee fraud on you. A very common fraud. Reporting it is the best you can do and make sure you dont act on these again.

  • This is what happening these days when people get fake calls like you get..you should have been known that banks never publicize your personal details.... and when they asked you pay 100$ from ukash card then you should have gotten an idea that it could be a fraud.....

    thanks

Next time, put the phone down. Any speculative phone call i.e. if it doesn't come directly from someone you have an account with, is a speculative or cold call, and you don't need to speak to them.
