Dark circles under eyes!

I've had dark circles all my life and since my teens I have been searching for my Holy Grail concealer. I've just turned 44 and still haven't found one.
My problem is that a muscle under my eye creates a shadow so, as someone else said, it is my facial structure that causes it so it ain't ever gonna go away!Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

I also have dark circles under my eyes.
Whilst I haven't found a "miracle" treatment to get rid of them, I do find that Max Factor Mastertouch Concealer is really good. It's a liquid in a twist up pen thing, that you apply with the built in sponge. It's not too light or too heavy, and doesn't go powdery when it dries.
Normally about £8 in Boots but you can get them cheaper on Ebay.Debt at Highest: £11,630.10 (May 2006) Debt now: £0.00 !!!!Married to the man of my dreams :A - Sat 2nd June 20070 -
For what it's worth: I've just bought the Revlon PhotoReady concealer and really like it. It's liquid, you apply it with a little sponge brush (like a lipgloss), and then I use a brush to blend. Does the job.
I also quite liked the 17 phwoarr line in the shop, but it was more expensive, so I chose the Revlon.0 -
I've had dark circles under my eyes since I was a teenager (I'm 26 now) and the only thing I've found that does anything for them is Benefit's It's Potent eye cream. Admittedly it's not cheap but a little goes a long way and I don't mind paying a bit extra for something that works.
I'm still looking for the perfect concealer to go with it - currently using Rimmel Hide The Blemish which is OK but can be a bit heavy and needs quite thorough blending."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -
Mine is genetic. And sadly it gets worse as you get older as skin thins. I know you can have fat inplants but its only suitable for some people. And expensive of course. Sometimes I think about it!!
Obviously concealer is best/easiest and I shall try some of the ones mentioned above. Are any of them ok without a full face of foundation? I have nice skin (one of my few good features!) and I don't need foundation.
I def agree with going around the make up counters. Have also heard that Bobbi Brown is generally a good range for older skin
There are several other good posts on this subject on the board so OP may like to read through them if she has not already done so0 -
You need to ensure that any concealer you buy has no sort of highlighting properties as this will make the problem worse. MAC Pro Longwear is good, nice and creamy to blend as well.0

People think I don't wear makeup but if they saw what my eyes look like without concealer they'd be horrified.
I use the revlon photo ready concealer it isn't wonderful but under a bb cream it does the job.
Have you tried a mineral powder might be worth giving the lily lolo one a go. Ysl does nothing for me0 -
If your under eye circles are very dark/black then you will need a very yellow/orange concealer. This will look strange when you first put it on but once blended out it will cancel out the dark colours.
Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.0 -
I still swear by airbrush by Clinique... Sometimes I just wear it with a wee brush if powder and no foundation.0

Glad I 'm not alone! I have had shadows under my eyes since I was a teenager, now 61. I've tried loads of concealers over the years from cheap to Touche Éclat. They all tone it down a bit. I've also noticed that when I cut down on carbs and lost weight the puffiness I also had disappeared.0
