I can't believe how much comping has changed!

I used to enter competitions a few years back and was very lucky, decided to come back to it now I have taken some time out of work and wow its changed loads! as you can see in my signature its been a while lol

Are there any of you still doing it that were a few years back? there was none of this rafflecopter, hardly any twitter comps and was mainly form filling.

I think i've just about got my head round things but not sure if I will be as lucky or even if I am doing it right lol! seems easy for people to enter comps multiple times now esp with twitter. fingers crossed though

Hi xoxlauraxox and welcome back! I remember you well, you were comping and posting when I started :-)

I still do form filling from comps on the MSE boards, and on days when I'm only working mornings, or when I have lunch at my desk, I manage to do some tweeting. I get most wins on FB and twitter tbh, with only the odd one from the traditional old-style comping - those tend to be smaller prizes like CDs, DVDs etc

I've been comping several years now, and agree that comping has changed.

When I started, neither Facebook nor Twitter existed, and there were much fewer competitions than there are these days.

Nowadays (with rafflectopters, Twitter, and Facebook) there are so many different types of competitions, yet - for me - prizes have been fewer than when I first started.

There are so many more people entering now, but also there are so many more comps to enter so I think the chances of winning are much the same as ever.

Years ago i used to comp using mostly magazine competitions or on the saturday morning shows like live and kicking where you send in a postcard, so doing it via here, twitter and FB is relatively new to me

Welcome back :j:j Comping has totally changed! I remember when Twitter first began and there was a handful of comps and we didn't know how to enter them as much as those running them had little clue what they were doing :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: It's one of my favourite comping places now - I'm not a big fan of FB comps. Majority of ones I enter are still entry form/postcard/texts though xx
