Aldi charging your payment card twice

Seems to to be a problem with Aldi's payment system at the moment, charging you twice for your shopping. This happened at the Camelon store in scotland but customer service think this problem may be nationwide.so if you have shopped there recently check your bank statements.

This could cause serious problems for customers who might end up in the red and thus trigger bank charges. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

My sister was one of the people charged twice, she went shopping on the 21st,22nd and 26th march at Aldi and had a combined total of just under a £100,and they charged it all again to her card today.Store manager said they would pay any bank charges that occurred but she would need to show prove of this.0 -

Surely this is a problem with their Bank, who processes the payments. Could they not identify the problem and automatically correct it? Some people don't even check their bank statements and would not be aware of it! Not good press for Aldi if we can't trust them to charge us correctly!!0

I read this thread prior to doing my food shop Saturday so I took cash instead. On voucher week I normally buy two vouchers and spilt the shop into two. Pay for one lot use one voucher and so on. Did that handed over vouchers, paid the amounts they asked for and wasn't till I got to the car that the five pound vouchers that I used was registered on the receipt but it had not actually deducted off the Bill. I had to go back in and get a refund for the value of the vouchers. So check your receipts if using the five pound of a forty pound spend voucher. Don't know what went wrong the manager seems to think it was a till error.'There are far better things ahead Than any we leave behind '0

Also note that things seem to be added on that you haven't brought!!
The past two weeks TWICE this has happened. First time she said she was packing in to the trolley and looked up at stuff was scanning through and noticed the total said £500!!!!!!! She knew it wasn't right so asked and they had ''accidently'' managed to scan a laptop through!! Luckily they deducted it off but then when she got home she found that they had then added on blueberries and something else (which equalled to about £3) which she hadn't had!!!
Then last week she was aware of it so when she was packing from trolley to the bags she ticked it off and found they had added a £9.99 duvet cover on which she hadn't had. My mum went back to the til and got a refund but needless to say double check your receipts. I know I have been more aware. Also other thing is checking change when you pay with cash, as they don't use the til to work it out, they do it in their heads and heard of quite a few people getting incorrect change.
I love Aldi but things like this are very very annoying!!Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
