Non Sterling fee refund...

Options
I've searched through the various threads but could not find anything similar to my problem (apologies if there is already, maybe someone could link it for me?) Anyhow, here is the problem:

In February I purchased an item from a seller on Price Minister (similar to Amazon marketplace from Rakuten group) using Mastercard (MBNA). The item was not in stock and Price Minister contacted me saying they would refund the money. I did not realise they do not refund on to your credit card, but put the money in your 'wallet' and you then ask for the money to be transferred to your bank account - there is no possibility to get a refund on the credit card.

By mid March, I contacted MBNA to ask them to refund me the £1.09 fee they had charged for non-sterling transaction. It was suggested I make a claim for 'non received good' as they would not refund transaction fee without having a transaction to go with it! As I explained that the refund would be actioned on to my account and insisted I only wanted the £1.09, I was told that Price Minister would have 45 days to reject the refund request and explain the refund had been made elsewhere, in which case MBNA would refund only the transaction fee.

Long story short, I've been refunded twice, and Price Minister sending me letter from Fraud department adding 50 euros to the initial 44 euros of the transaction..... I think I'll be on the Most Wanted list soon, up there with Bin Laden.....

Spoke to them, spoke to MBNA.... no one is budging..... Thing is, if I send them back the money they put in my bank account, I'll be charged a fiver.... all of it for an item I never had anyways. I don't want to be refunded twice, and like I said to MBNA, if I wanted to defraud anyone, I wouldn't go at it in 44 euros increments....

What am I to do - I have asked MBNA to give them back the transaction money they've refunded but they don't want to because they claim Price Minister could still claim within the 45 days.... Oh la la..... what a headache.....

Any suggestions (and yes, 'never buy from Price Minister again' is already tattooed on my forehead!)

Thanks for any help!

Let it sort itself out. At best you'll be a few euros (?44) better off and at worst you'll be no worse off. Don't waste your time on it.

Bailiffs will charge more than 50 euros to break down your door, so the company won't be bothered.
