I've just moved house so need to buy a few things to do it up which I can't afford now but would easily be able to pay it back within 12 months. I was thinking of a loan but the interest rates are horrendous which is why I was thinking of a credit card. I would cut it up once the money is paid back and never use it again.
I would take a look at freecycle and other websites for household products. In the meantime save up and get the capital one classic extra as you'll probably be accepted for that and it gives a 0.5% cashback and £10 annually. Set up a direct debit to pay off the full statement amount every month so no interest is charged.
In a couple of years you'll have saved up enough money to pay for the things you want in full, and earned the interest from the savings, earned some cash from the cashback card, and built up a credit history which will enable you to get access to long term 0% cards and not a penny wasted on interest!0
