confused easily please can someone help ?

My friends claims ESA, as she has BPD, a personality disorder. I have just read that after the first 13 weeks this is reviewed. Is this right? Will she receive paper work about this as its nearly been 13 weeks since the beginning of her claim.

She also needs to know if her boyfriend moves in will she be entitled to ESA still?

Thank you

there is no limit on how long the assessment stage can take, I have heard of people who still don't have a decision after 9 months! If/when a decision is made to award your friend main-phase ESA, payment will be backdated to the first day of the 14th week of her claim, with just the first 13 weeks being left at just the assessment rate.

It depends whether she receives income asbed ESA or contributions based ESA. It also depends on how much he earns if she receives income based ESA.

Her ESA will/could only be affected by her partners wage if her claim is income based. If she is on contribution based she can claim CB ESA for 12months unless she is eventually placed in the support group, then 12 months doesn't apply. If she loses her ESA there could be other benefits or tax credits that could be claimed but it will obviously be down to other factors.
