Have you considered going on a cruise.

    pros:

    1) you may not have to fly
    2) not bad value when you consider all food and entertainment
    3) you can visit many islands
    4) as relaxing or exhilarating as you like
    5) be entertained and enojy yourself whilst you travel around

Won't be as cheap as many of the package deals on offer but I would definitely recommend a cruise especially if getting round the islands appeals to you.

Maspalomas in Gran Canaria! My sister and bf have just been on our recommendation and said it was the best hol they have been on. If you can afford it stay at the Gran Hotel Costa Meloneras, we paid £450 for 1 week hb in May last yr so its affordable and it has the most amazing infinity pool and 4 other pools  Great restaurants and close to busier more livlier resorts like Playa De Las Americas if you want a change.

Dont know what prices will be at xmas. Maspalomas is upmarket, immaculatley clean, lots of very rich Germans and Swiss so no go-lightlies as hubby calls them (chavs to you and me!)

We normally use Hays Travel or Direct Holidays.

    Just gone onto Hays,

Depart Sat 22nd Dec for 1 week from Bristol, staying at Los Tunos bungalows total cost of holiday is £899.75. We have stayed at Los Tunos and it is fine accommodation, basic but clean and a nice pool and right next to Faro 2 commercial centre, with shops and restaurants.

Looking at better hotels thats not a bad price. Doesnt include transfers or ins. Private taxi from aiport normally costs us abuot £60 return, no need to queue on the coach.

Hi we did Lanzarote one new year and found it quite cool though I understand it can be quite breezy. We went to Tenerife christmas 2005 we did book late september. We stayed at the Guayarmina Princess, Costa Adeje which was fine. We booked at Thomsons and knew it was going to be one of 3 hotels in their Platinum range. We have previously stayed at the Riu Vistamar in Amadores Gran Canaria it was spectacular.

Wherever you go have a great time, I am quite jealous.

We went to Lanzarote a few years ago just before Christmas and the week we were there it rained for 5 days.It was warmish but definetly not hot.
