    Afternoon all,

Good news about your op JackieO. Molly thinking of you and what your having to go through. Many ((((hugs))) to you.

What a morning ive had. Firstly got a text from my daughter she went into work yesterday to sort out her hours when she returns after her maternity leave. We've never really discussed me having our Grandson whilst she goes back. I haven't said I'd have him but I haven't said I wouldn't either. Anyway, she has discussed hours and they want her back 18 hours a week which means she wants me to have him 18 hours. I'm struggling with the commitment if I'm honest but I'm struggling with her attitude too. I don't think she can understand why I wouldn't want to have him. I heard her fianc! shouting in the background 'well we will just put him in childcare then' he sounded annoyed obviously not understanding my reservations. Not only am I worrying about whether I can cope, I'm thinking of the dogs too. There was no way I would have dogs when my own children were young and although I haven't seen a shred of aggression in them. I just don't trust dogs with young children. I'm going to be a nervous wreck!

Moving swiftly on. I sat part 2 of 'The Health Survey for England 2014' at 11. More questions, blood taken, urine sample submitted, etc. Its all done now. A copy will be sent to my doctor in due course.

So I'm sitting here wondering whats next.

Household chores completed for today. Tea, well I haven't thought far yet.

    Onwards and forwards,
    Have a great day all.

...On the topic of mince, after using veal mince for the first time yesterday and my girls loving it and with it being lower in fat and calories, what else can I make out of it? The only other things I really make out of are cottage pie and sometimes burgers....

I use it to make meatballs - you can make a batch and freeze them and they only take a short while to defrost for tea with h/m tomato sauce and spag or pasta. You can also make tiddly ones for your girls so they think they've got loads when they have actually only got about 3 or 4!

Or how about lasagne? Although I generally use pork mince for that ;)

Sorry not to post but I am getting ready for my brain op in a week or so - just about to catch up with all your news xx

    Love and hugs xxx
If you can, give us the heads-up the day before you go in, so that I can rustle up some serious healing vibes for you. x

JackieO you too - I know how excited you are to get your op date, but I'd be pleased to wallop some healing energy your way at the appropriate time. x
Btw, I shall be doing some apple & parsnip soup on Saturday, from the recipe you posted a while back, as I got a huge bowl of parsnips for £1 on the market.:o

Actually, I need to do next week's food plan with the fact that we're short of eggs and cheese in mind. I don't want to buy any extra, as we get them from the Farmers Market, and they're far better than any I can get in the SM. Next Farmers Market is Sunday 6th April, so our meager supplies need to last til then.;)

Dins tonight is the 2nd half of yesterday's Shepherd Spy. As Jessie's arriving at 19:00, a nuke-it meal is easiest for tonight.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Only 10 days to go LW! Have fun with Jessie :)

  • OMG it has just started snowing here  I have a line full of washing but it can stay out there for the time being. Used the Daily Mirror voucher and with all of the other coupons I saved £9 :j So that has gone into the coupon jar along with the £10 win from a lottery scratch card yesterday :D It is nearly full and we are only in March:j I will put it in a separate BS account and see how much I can save up until Jan 1 2015.

JackieO good news on the op, that is quick. I have had to wait since early November for mine :(

    Molly ((gentle hugs)) x

Cottage pie for dinner and we are having it early because DH is going swimming tonight. I am making two and one will go in the freezer for when I have the op, I have a good four weeks of meals in there now. So I won't have to suffer DH's cooking :p

    Off to light the fire

    Afternoon to All
I think the sun is trying to push it's way through the clouds today, I hope it does as it's feeling rather cool outside!
Had a clean up in the kitchen, just need to empty the dishwasher now and also hang the washing round the radiators.
Paperwork done this morning, I have now just had some lunch and enjoyed a coffee with a wagon wheel - not had one for ages!!! And will then progress on to finishing my housework. I am waiting for our new american style fridge freezer to be delivered, I am so very excited:T, I did wonder if this is a sign I am getting older, I was 23 in Jan! I'm thinking of the extra freezer space for batch cooking :rotfl:
I did do some moneysaving work by finding a £50 off voucher and searching for the cheapest price and I have got free delivery :j

moneysavingemma - congratulations on your engagement
Molly - sending ((hugs)) and well wishes!!
Judi - I can see where you are coming from, maybe you will be able to sort a half-way house so to speak.
TTFTM - Glad to hear you are beginning to feel better, roll on the easter break & lie-ins :j

Tea is ready for tonight, minced beef, onion and pototoe pasties that I made with some of the mince from the cottage pie for last night.
Right, time to have a good clean around the house and hope to keep the log burner in.
Fingers crossed the fridge arrives soon.
    Enjoy your day everyone!!

We just have cold rain :(

Managed to walk down to other end of town, change library books, get a tray of large eggs from weekly market and a load of fruit . Got a bus back and then lugged home a huge meat order from local butcher.

Made chicken and mushroom pasta for lunch and a loaf is due to come out of the breadmaker. Feel shattered now so having a sit down and browsing on here before tidying up kitchen and mending DD's new skirt for her.

If it is still wet and nasty tonight will have something comforting like Biker's mince with veg or moussaka. Only lost a pound this week but DD lost three:o

    Molly and JackieO

Big hug and good vibes for your operations. Crossing fingers and toes for you both.

We've had hailstones! Fortunately I spotted it getting ready to start throwing them, and got the washing in before it started. My blouse and "unmentionables" are all dry :T and I've put Mr LW's trousers on the A-frame.:o

Meal plan done.:T I've eked out the eggs to last, and avoided cheese in our dins so that it's available for Mr LW's lunchtime sandwiches.:o He's only in the office four days next week; he has permission to work from home on the Thursday, to be available to take me to the GP surgery. I usually get Mr LW's input on meal plans, but this time he'll eat what he's given (actually he would anyway, but I like to get his perspective on it when I can).

    Afternoon all,

Bit of an odd weather day today, cold and frosty to start, then some hail/sleet and now sunshine. Looking forward to the clocks going forward at the weekend.

Not much to report today, had coffee with Dad in Dobbies this morning. Still haven't heard from DS2's Physics teacher and I am taking that as a bad sign. I am going to email him this evening if he doesn't ring before.

Made Chilli and Rice for dinner last night but it was a bit bland despite the real chilli and chilli flakes I put in. Fish and chips (cooked in the oven) for tea tonight.
