Anyone else had the problem with EA servers on this? My son has been unable to play for nearly 3 weeks. All I get from EA is the blah blah about how they know there is a problem and they are looking to fix it. I have emailed the CEO (Andrew Wilson, awilson@ea.com). No joy. I have been in touch with CAB & Trading Standards. They told me to contact Game where I bought it. Game say they know there is a problem but I just have to wait for EA to fix it. Great. So I guess Game are just as useful as EA. I do find it strange that this problem only started after I get Microsoft to remove my credit card details after my son racked up £55 in fees (very easy to do by accident - apparently someone's son ran up massive bills on this). I had a message on Facebook from a mate 60 miles away and his son has the same issue with EA servers. Clearly they don't care. Spend your money elsewhere.

Yes thats as much as you will get from EA. They can take as long as they want, they need to test any patches thy release before they make it available to the public.I have been in touch with CAB & Trading Standards. What do you want TS, CAB and Game to do ?
The servers are out of GAMEs control.I do find it strange that this problem only started after I get Microsoft to remove my credit card details after my son racked up £55 in fees (very easy to do by accident - apparently someone's son ran up massive bills on this). Nothing to do with you getting MS to remove the card details, you can buy the pre paid cards eg £10, you enter the code and it tops up your account so a bit like payg phones. You will feel much better if he quicly spends the £10 rather than another £55.0 -

Firstly, the game is largely working, one component of the game is not currently working but the game itself is not faulty, hence it's out of Game's control.
Second, that racking up of £55 wasn't an "accident" it was neglect, ignorance & inability to properly secure card data, all on the part of YOU. That's not EA's problem, thats you failing to know what is happening & failing to educate yourself in the most basic of technological undertakings.
Finally - EA are working to fix it, from your post it appears you don't know much about technology, but I'll go ahead & say that doesn't happen overnight. You can't expect a company to click their fingers & everything's magically fixed, you can want that to happen but ultimately it's not something that's practically possible.
Calm down a bit, understand that it's a part of playing video games online & realise that it will be sorted in due course, granted that due course may not meet your unrealistic expectations but that's life. I personally want a 6-pack & a million quid in the bank, it's possible, but we all know it's not going to happen yesterday!Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0 -
I've played FIFA on line for a few years now. Occasionally get EA server issue, the last time was a couple of weeks ago. So, I didn't play online. All this week they've been fine. So, I played online. If you're expecing EA to permanently fix a world wide play area, then I wouldn't bother with Fifa if I were you either. The games worth the money anyway, and online play is an added bonus. Might be worth checking your internet connection - mine has more toruble if I play upstairs on wireless connection but fine downstairs wireless, anywhere in the house on a wired connection is fine as well. Every time I go online, I get kicked out of the first match I play, then no probs. Its basically a put up or shut up situation I'm afraid, and always has been.0

I play fifa all the time have you checked your NAT type? My guess is your NAT type is strict that is why he can connect to the EA servers. Your NAT type needs to be open it is an easy fix just reset your router and he will be able to connect.0

I know I returned this to GAME under SOGA. I play the PC version, and wanted it purely for online play.
There are so many errors in the game that EA won't fix, and tried to blame me multiple times (unstable private network, disconnects aren't our fault etc). It made the game not fit for the purpose I purchased it.
I actually felt bad for GAME in this instance, but after 3 months of trying to fix it with EA, it was evident the online modes were inherently faulty.0 -
EA online issues? You don't say
I couldn't play Battlefield for about 4 days (open NAT I might add). What will your verse be?

I guess the acceptance of broken games is becoming the norm. Bad times.0

Gordon, unfortunately its a fact of life with EA. I also play GTAV (Rockstar) online regularly and never had a problem. EA seem to think that people will buy Fifa every year no matter what state its in - some do, but I only buy every other new edition now purely because they release it with so many faults. Having said that, it is mind boggling to me (child of the early 70's) that you can play online in the same game with anyone in the world at the same time. I remember playing kick off on an old Atari 520.0

There was an EA game up-date on the 10th March which resulted in gamers within an under age account (think anyone under 13 years) are now unable to access their ultimate team on-line. It is due to new legislation, they are working on resolving it!!!.
However after two weeks of having a moaning 10 year old I contacted them. They managed to resolve the problem for me my linking my son's X box account to my origin account and hey presto it works again- however his ultimate team was wiped and he had to start it from scratch. He is happy with this as he said he had a rubbish team anyway. From my conversation with the EA game person (who was actually very helpful) it doesn't seem as if it is an easy fix for them to resolve the connection issue, so if fed up with waiting contact them (I did it on-line as found it easier and obviously no costs from phone line!)0
