UKPC ticket

Hi,

Quick question.

Just received a UKPC ticket for "Parked in a permit space without displaying a valid permit"

I am following the instructions as posted in the sticky sections.

The NTK was sent after 28 days and within 56 so can't get them there.

I was reading section 8(2)b of PoFA
"inform the keeper that the driver is required to pay parking charges in respect of the specified period of parking and that the parking charges have not been paid in full;"

This letter states
"A parking charge was issued to the driver at the time but this has not been paid" kMJx

I presume this is the standard UKPC letter but does this inform me, the keeper, the driver is required to pay the charge? And if it doesn't is this something to appeal in the soft one or POPLA? Or is this just a technicality and how I am interpreting it?

Also UKPC allow you to look at the photos on their website. This includes many of another car. Does this help my case at all?

Btw my last UKPC charge went away after many, I admit scary, letters from DRP then Zenith. But Id rather have this one over and done so no ongoing worries.

Thanks so much everyone

appeal as RK and dont tell them who was driving at this stage

use the appeal letter in the newbies sticky thread

    ie:- cancel or popla

for england and wales POFA 2012 can make the RK liable for this , so as RK you are appealing it , do not ignore it if in E+W

    Hi,

Sent email saying cancel or POPLA on 26 Mar by 2nd class

"Final notice" received from UKPC dated 04/04.

I said I would not correspond further without POPLA code.

    What should I do?

    Thanks

Resend your appeal with a short covering note demanding the POPLA code or you will report them to DVLA,BPA etc.

I assume your appeal actually said more than 'cancel or POPLA'?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I'm currently helping my niece deal with a charge from UKPC and she received a Final Reminder from them too - about 14 days after submitting the appeal - which also made no mention of the appeal.
Unfortunately these PPC's do have a habit of playing silly games.

So in case they were trying to pretend they had never received the appeal - we sent a letter informing them that their lack of acknowledgement of the appeal within 14 days and continuing to process the charge by sending further demands for payment were both in breach of the BPA CoP and this had been reported to the BPA.
We also enclosed a copy of the original appeal (used the template 1st appeal in the sticky NEWBIE thread) and a copy of the certificate of posting we got when we first sent it.

If you got a certificate of posting when you sent yours would suggest you do the same.
If you didn't - then resend the appeal now and make sure you get a cert. of posting from the P.O. (do NOT use signed for or Registered - they refuse to sign for them),

You are welcome to a copy of the letter we sent if you would find it useful to adapt for your own letter.

Yes very clear. Cancel or POPLA. No response=assumed cancelled

And thanks Collie I sent one off really quick yesterday and didn't get a cert of post but will do in future.

Just got a letter from UKPC.

Ticket cancelled!! Thanks everyone for your help

In the reply letter I didn't specifically ask for it to be cancelled, I did in the first letter say if no POPLA code I will assume it is cancelled. When they sent me a reminder invoice I sent another letter asking fr POPLA again

Anyway all good. Cancelled on appeal!

    Thanks for all your help!
