Why sell it through ebay if you have a buyer lined up?
Just have them send you the funds via your chosen route and send them the item.
Why give ebay a slice of the action??The money, Dave...0 -

Hi,
First time posting here so hopefully I'm doing this right!
We've been buying and selling on eBay for a number of years now and the main thing I would question here is why does the person want to settle early?
Obviously it depends on what you're selling but if it's something collectable it may well be that your potential buyer thinks they have spotted a bargain and wants to buy it as soon as possible, as cheap as possibel and before anyone else finds it.
The other thing to bear in mind is that the majority of bids are made towards the end of an auction.

Hello, I'd bear in mind what the previous poster said about why this person wants to end the sale early. I was selling some very expensive items once that didn't get bids until the last hour - but if I'd have taken them off early as requested by several potential buyers I'd have ended up with almost half the price I did.
But if you want to sell your items then I think it's best to get the person to bid on them now for the amount you've agreed and then close the sale. You can do this (and it's allowed by ebay) in the follwing way:
Note: It is acceptable for sellers to end a listing early and sell an item to the highest bidder at their current bid price. Bidders are permitted to contact sellers with requests to end a listing early for this reason; however, sellers are under no obligation to do so. To end a listing and sell to the current high bidder (at their current high bid), go to the End My Listing Early form and select "Sell to the high bidder".
Ebay do warn against selling goods off eBay and that's probably why your buyer wants to go through eBay:
Ending a listing early for the following reasons is prohibited as it is considered fee avoidance:- Cancelling bids and ending a listing early in order to sell the item off-eBay. You should be aware that as well as avoiding fees, you risk fraud by selling items off the eBay website. If a member writes to you to ask you to sell away from the eBay website, please report them to us.
