Barclays to uphold claim but on a different Loan Account!!

Options
My wife today has received a letter today from Barclays confirming they have finished their investigations on a Loan Account from 1999 and they are sorry this was mis - sold and will provide a refund.

The thing is the Loan Account they give reference to and will refund on is not the one the claim has been made against. The loan Account number they have given is not the one provided to the bank on this claim. However, the bank reference number given on their first letter dated 26th February 2014 and letter of offer dated 20th March 2014 are the same; only the last 4 digits for the Account number are different?

Now very confused; what would be the next step as they say in their letter you can challenge them and provide documents, if possible. I have found my wife's original loan agreement today which concurs with the loan she originally claimed for.

What would be the next step here?

Thank you
