Can you help clarify the standard insurance clause in relation to mild asthma:
"cover will not be provided for any claims arising directly or indirectly from any pre-existing medical condition."
I have mild asthma. I totally get the "directly" part. I'm I actually get the "indirectly" part as well in general. Specifically though, I can't think of a situation where I would have to make claim that was indirectly related to mild asthma?
I know ur not doctors so forgive me for asking here but any help on with this one would be appreciated.
Thanks

I guess an indirect claim could come about if the mild asthma got worse, and was then considered to be the major cause of a future heart attack or stroke?0 -
Indirect are not the asthma itself but what it can also lead on to or the long term side effects of the drugs to treat it.
Other conditions, eg diabetes, are easier to give examples of indirect issues but a quick google shows that long term taking of the steroids for asthma can cause osteoporosis or cataract
If you are long term heavy user of the steroid based treatments for asthma you may find either of these conditions were excluded if the Drs state it was probably linked to your asthma medication0 -
Thank you for clearing that up for me.Snootchie Bootchies!0
