Buying a repossessed house - contents, etc

We're in the process of buying a repossessed house and I have some questions which I'm not really sure who to ask. I noticed a few repo threads here so thought someone might be able to help.
Basically the house is ours and in 3 weeks the contracts should be exchanged. We've heard from the solicitor that the contents of the house are going to be left, but this includes a failry new car outside in the drive. I assume the stuff inside the house is ours to do with what we please, but what about the car? Does this still belong to the previous owners, and if the car was bought on finance will someone be wanting the car back?
Hopefully we'll get some helpful information from the estate agents or the solicitor, but does anyone here have any advice?
Thanks
Chris

It's a fairly new Citroen Xsara, something like 2001.0

Your solicitor is the best person to ask about the legal position.
The car is worth around 1-1.5k I would guess. But without the log book you won't be legal owner/keeper of the car so won't be able to sell it.
I would do an hpi check on it, find out if it is financed and get in touch with the lenders.
If there is no finance outstanding, just get a local scrappy to come and take it away.
(you may have to pay them though, believe it or not)0 -

could sell it on ebay to be taken over to Poland. There are buyers...0 -

you can be a legal owner of a car without the log book being in your name. the name on the log book is the registered keeper, which may or not be the legal owner. the solititor may know, if not and you get a receipt for the car on completion, its yours.0
