It certainly wouldn't be unique, but it would certainly be cheap. Most actually look pretty professional, but again; not unique. Still, it would be a solid start and when you get your business up and running, you can always refresh it.

You get what you pay for I'm afraid!

Don't consider a logo to be the be all & end all, it should reflect an overall brand identity & values for your Company - doesn't have to be expensive but use a designer with branding experience - it will be money well spent as that will then tie in with your letterheads, website, flyers etc.

...or you could use an online bidding arena like 99designs or a freelance marketplace like Odesk or elance but to be honest, find someone local whose work you like the look of.
