Nokia Lumia Queries

Hi, can anyone help with a Nokia query please? My OH and I have updated our phones to a Nokia Lumia 520 and a Nokia Lumia 1020 respectively. They arrived today with two new micro-sims etc and we have powered them both up. Problem is, they are both showing 'No Service' and are aonly allowing emergency calls only. We have no internet connection and are unable to make any calls. We're not majorly technical but I think we've covered all the basics, i.e. turned them off and on and tried to manually select network but to no avail. Our son has the 520 model also and has never had a problem with connection. We still have our old Nokia phones with original SIMs in but is that the issue? That both phones are trying to run the same number with different sims? Just a thought......?
There is nothing of any help on the Vodafone site, their customer service is closed, their techno help is non-existent and their only Live Chat facility is if you want to buy a new phone - which I may well want to do at this rate, grrrrr! Anybody got any ideas? Thanks, Tabs

Can't recall exactly, but do you not have to call your provider to activate the sims?0

Sounds like the new SIMs haven't been activated. There should have been a Vodafone branded booklet with the phones showing you what to do.
Might be worth filling out the form at the following page on Vodafone's website - http://www.vodafone.co.uk/vodafone-uk/forms/sim-swap/index.htmThe quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

Many thanks indeed for your respective assistance. Indeed it was a SIM issue and I have finally been able to get on to Vodafone's Live Chat and they have activated both SIMS and we're away! Really annoyed that the sales agent told me that the new phones didn't need their SIMS activating these days!!! Thanks again, Tabs x0
