Halifax PPI

Options
Hi guys, I was contacted by Halifax a few weeks back telling me I paid PPI on a loan for 7 years, as I'm self employed I never take it out so I was unaware of the PPI, today I received a phonecall and they say since 1998 I've had four loans and paid PPI on them all obviously without knowing and being self employed, I knew nothing of this PPI till Halifax contacted me, so does anyone on here know if this is a claim that should be paid out and what should I expect to get back if anything? Thanks a lot guys, Steve.

You havent given any indication what your complaint reasons are.

You mention self employment but that is only an issue if self employed are not covered or there are too onerous conditions. Is that the case with yours?

  • Yes two main complaints are 1 I'm self employed and the policy shouldn't have been sold to me and 2 it wasn't sold to me because I didn't have a clue it existed, thanks

Ok, so on your self employed part of your complaint, did the PPI sold by Halifax cover the self employed? if yes, then your complaint fails on that point. If no, then it succeeds.

On the second point, you would expect failure as you cant prove it.
