I looked at it, but as far as i could see, you had to post your evidence (DLA award), proof of address/ID, and photograph to the BB department at the council anyway, so it's quite pointless completing it online and then having to post of docs aswell.
One thing I don't understand is why you need a new photo with every badge.
I have a disabled persons bus/travel pass and the photo on that is stored on the TfGM database and the same picture is used until I send in a new one should my appearance significantly alter.
If the Blue Badges worked in the same way it would then be possible to complete the renewal online completely assuming you could scan your ID/evidence of eligibility.[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

I've just completed mine online and sent the documents by post. It was very easy to do. Just waiting to hear from them now.
I thought it was a bit daft having to send the paperwork when they allow you to send a pho online.0 -
I have just renewed by blue badge, you need to send new photo as we all change in appeared due to age, hair styles, glasses, scars etc.
I know they trying to make it harder for people to get blue badges or fraud so I do not mind doing what's required but it is a bit of a marathon.0 -
Its a bit of a lot of unfinished business, leading to convoluted waste. The original and good idea was to be that all e-docs and e-money etc from your individual puter to a central UK based processing system.
- the without further assessment would be processed via the DWP eligibility dBase immediately and returned to you
- the with further assessment would be re-sent to LA's for further processing such as an O/T or other assessment
Where we are now, and why we are there is irrelevant, its a mess, all participants are required to do what they did before. The difference now is the genuine individual can not wait [or send someone] at the local counter with invaluable original documents and have them processed and returned safely with the new badge in 5 just minutes. At least the security elements of the new badge will begin to bite into the fiddlers and cheats who abuse this essential service for disabled people, meaning the extra £8 will be well worth the cost.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I don't know about weeding out the cheats. A friends relative and one of my own have just got badges when it's blatently obvious they shouldn't have one.
One can walk, with ease, way, way over what the guidelines say, and they put that distance on the application - got one without assessment.
It's still a joke.0 -

Before or after this January and which local authority ? since Jan this year it should be :
- without assessment for DLAHRM / war pensioner’s mobility supplement / registered blind / 8 points or more in the ‘moving around’ activity of of PIP
- - - Scotland is more relaxed and also allows 12 points in the ‘planning and following journeys activity of PIP
- with further assessment for everyone else other than 'special rules' as in kids under the age of 3 with bulky medical equipment etcDisclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. - they, Lincoln, as expected, use exactly the same rules as the rest of England
- how the one without DLAHRM / 8 in PIP managed it I've no idea !Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
