Car insurance admin fees?

I suppose unfair was the wrong word to use, it's just annoying that I thought I had sorted it all out and then have to unexpectedly pay more on top. That's life I suppose !

Just paid it over the phone, asked the guy about admin fees but he said they're not necessary! So, I got lucky (and will take extra care with details in future) !

Betfry. Congrats on getting the admin fee nullified. It is indeed quite possible that the mistake was at their end - it happens all the time.
A tip for the future, something that has worked for me on several occasions is
1) "screengrab" each page for online tranactions (I use "Faststone Capture" which can scroll and capture a page but there are many other similar utilities free to use) and
2) simply record telephone transactions (after informing them I'm doing so) using a cheap fly lead I got off eBay and a dictation machine.
The last one saved me a stack when one company who messed up conveniently "lost" their recording, but stumped up when I offered to e-mail my copy ...
