I've just had someone buy something and noticed their is a slight typo in their address. Everything is correct apart an extra letter in the town name (and for some reason their road name is repeated).
Am I best off changing this so it's all correct or leaving it as that's how it is on Paypal and it technically shouldn't affect things? No where else with a similar name or anything and I already removed the repeated line.
Probably a silly question lol. Just wondered how much it matters.

I usually check with RM online and change it- if it is close enough it shouldn't make any difference to a paypal claim.
Having to print out labels myself in the absense of ebay postage running properly it is incredible how many people have poorly spelt addresses. My own fingers are a bit dyslexic but surely they must notice when they continually get post to places like Ebidburgh or 'The terteat' (RM say it should be The Retreat) or 'Lundun'I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks I'll change it then. I'll change it then.
I've had addresses all written in lower case which I change but I don't sell much so I think this is the first with a mistake in the address. You're right though, it's amazing how many people can't type out their own address properly. Quite worrying really, it's such a simple thing. Can't understand why ebay/paypal don't change their system to stop these poorly written addresses though.0

I suppose they can't catch spelling mistakes as long as it is all in the right format- I am surprised they can't spot wrongly formatted post codes.
I get loads in lower case, I leave it all and only change the post code. Normally it is all done automatically when you print via ebay, it is frustrating having to do it by hand.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Probably would be more difficult, depends on the system. If it searched a database of existing addresses, perhaps going by the postcode and giving a drop down menu, there shouldn't be spelling mistakes. Course, that's still open to error if the buyer puts the wrong postcode and/or accidentally clicks on the wrong address. Would hopefully be less wrong addresses than there is now though.
Plenty of sites register the format of the postcode given. No reason why ebay couldn't do the same.
Don't blame you if you get loads. I guess that's one good point to being a private seller, I only have to do that every now and then and it only takes me seconds.0

Since the only details on the POP from the PO are the house number and postcode I have corrected mistakes in addresses as paypal won't know i've done that anyway. The one i've come across a lot is people putting Cresent instead of Crescent.0
