We're having an extension built and have been informed that we need trickle vents in the window and bifolding doors that we are putting in. Is this not right?

Building Control stopped making them compulsory around 4 years ago. Some Local Authorities "like" to see them fitted,I deal with 3 different Authorities and none of them recommend them.

I haven't fitted a trickle vent in any Joinery I have made since and always carry out the work with LBC Building Notice approval.Just to add none of the houses I have made windows and doors for have any damp issues because the clients open the windows........

Thanks, will do some research. The extension is going to have a big roof lantern and bifold doors so we're keen to make it as insulated as possible so if they aren't necessary I'd be inclined to leave them out.
