Bathroom paint - do I need to use it?

Well, it's all bought now. I went for silk for the bathroom after all, they didn't have the colour I wanted as a realife matt option. Got realife family matt for the bedroom - learnt my lesson as part of the reason for redecorating is the fact that Olivia spattered permanent gold pen up one of the walls! Funnily enough it didn't wipe off, just left big black marks where the paint rubbed off. Bought a selection of rollers and pads, so will give them both a try and let my hubby use the ones I like least!
Misgrace, if you happen upon this, can you advise whether I should add a little water to the silk as you mentioned I should do with the matt? Perhaps it isn't necessary, although I like the sound of it as will make the paint go a bit further, very MSE

Hi there PP, Normally silk is slighter thinner than matt, and i find sometimes I need an extra coat, but again, if its Dulux, I would still slightly water it down for the first coat, just as a precaution, and see how you go with the second coat.
if you find with the second coat you dont need water, then thats fine, but def add a bit of water for the first coat.
You will also find that silk has a different feel when you brush it on, its hard to describe, but it has a slimy feel to it, and sometimes you need to add a bit of water for it to go on smoother.
Be care ful when you take the lid off, as sometimes the silk can have like a ring of slimy dried paint round the lid inside, and if not careful can drop into the can.
If your not going to finish the whole painting in one day, and doing another coat the next, then keep your roller and brush in a couple of plastic carrier bags, wrap your roller in one, wrap your brush in another, then place the two bags in another one, and wrap some tape round the handle to hold the bags in place, this will keep your brush and roller fresh and not dry out for a good few days, sometimes over a week, till your ready to use it again, and saves you washing them out all the time.:D0
