Pianists Cancelled but no refund

Hi there,
My partner purchased four tickets at a cost of £40 to see a specific Piano duo in early April, they are the only ones on the bill. On Sunday we found out that the Pianists would no longer be performing and expected our money back due to cancellation.
However it seems that the venue has replaced them with a different artist, thus not technically cancelling the show but leaving us with tickets to see a completely different show than the one we paid for.
I have checked the Terms & Conditions to discover this:
Which seems... draconian if nothing else!
Any help shedding light on our rights in this situation would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for your time,
Scott

Were this duo the headline act of the show or just part of it?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Hi !!!!!!,
They were the show in its entirety, no other acts were performing.
Thanks0 -
Looks like an unfair term to me, however it may be for the small claims court to sort out.0

Send the promoter a letter before action stating that their terms are unfair and state your case.
You will win this, they will be relying on people's ignorance. If it was that easy, I could sell tickets for thousands to come and see lady gaga in my living room and then just swap her for my daughter at the last minute.
Thinking about it........
HahaA computer once beat me at chess.
It was no match for me at kickboxing!0
