Cazenove re-brand in progress

Appreciate they were taken over a while ago - just noticed my existing Cazenove funds are now showing as Shroder funds on my Trustnet mirror portfolio.

Whilst researching another fund on Trustnet and Morningstar they are showing a mix of both names depending on the information being reviewed.

Just hope it doesn't impact performance going forward, if more subtle changes are going on in the background..

I noticed that last night... I tried to sell my fund through HL, and it looks like it is not possible anymore - I have a message telling me to call them in case I want to trade that fund. Just annoying

I noticed the re-brand at HL on Friday. If the fund is the Smaller Companies one it has hard closed and you can't trade online. You can certainly sell it if you give them a phone call, I did this a couple of weeks ago

Just also note that most of the funds have increased charges now they have moved across:

    Small amounts, but worth noting.

In terms of performance, the UK Opportunities and Smaller Co funds have slowed down of late, this could be a result of the fund group change, however it is probably more likely due to the size of the funds which can restrict the managers, especially when it comes to small caps.

What's the feeling on mergers and takeovers like this in general terms historically? Do you think the same funds and managers carry on as before, or does the upheaval lead to underperformance of previous good performing funds in the smaller house? You would think there would be rationalisation of similar funds to save costs in the medium term...

It has got to have an effect. Teeppee's links hilight an increase in operational costs but also suggests that all the key fund management team were taken on initially. Who knows how long that will last until rationalisation and alternative decision structures take place.

The Smaller Company fund I was checking on and the target fund have both suffered recently, but so have their peers of similar standing. Whether it is fund issue or the market, only time will tell.
