Parking ticket from local council, while collecting blue badge to park

Hello everyone.
While I am half way through a ticket from a mickey mouse company, I have now received a ticket from the local council. I am having such bad luck as of late!
The ticket reason is "Parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours"
I parked on a yellow line, in order to pick my disabled nan up. I parked up at 08:20 and arrived back about 15 minutes later where I had a ticket for parking after the cut off of free parking before 08:30.
The thing is, I was collecting the blue disabled badge from my nan, then I returned to the car to put the blue badge in the window and then I had a ticket.
Does anyone think that I have much chance of getting away with the ticket considering the circumstances? As you are allowed to park there with a blue badge however I was just collecting it and there was nowhere else to park.
They have done me for £110, reduced to £55 if paid within 14 days.
Any help would be lovely..
Thanks!

This doesn't make sense as if you were picking your Nan up she'd have come out of the house with you and the Badge...and it doesn't take 15 minutes to grab a Badge?I parked on a yellow line, in order to pick my disabled nan up. Anyway get your story straight and post a pic of BOTH SIDES of the PCN on pepipoo in the Council tickets forum.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
