If you are near to Staffordshire :Staffordshire oatcakes with fillings such as / or combinations of bacon, cheese , tomato, baked beans, sausage. (For those who haven't tried them, they are not dry biscuits, but more like savoury pancakes made on a griddle from oatmeal.)

Grabbing and sharing a bag of real chips, from a chip shop, close to a river/lake/beach - and sitting on a bench to share the chips and stare out over the water.

I don't think corn on the cob has been mentioned- one of our favourite lunchtime snacks and very quick and simple to prepare
  • remember those pieces of frozen fish that come 4 in a box, wrapped in plastic, covered in sauce and you just boil them in the bag. Try one of those on top of pasta. Yummy. I like the ones in parsley sauce best. One piece is enough for lunch, or you can put salad with it to bulk it up a bit if you're really hungry. You can cook both pasta and packet of fish in one saucepan.
I love a bargain. Now mortgage and debt free. hurray!!:smileyhea

Kippers with poached or scrambled eggs (you can even have bread+butter with it - 'de-contructed sarnie').
  • I bought a yellow sticker sweetcorn pair from M&S - far, far too sweet - it was like a mouthful of sugar. And no I did not enjoy.

No wonder ppl put on weight
  • I stopped buying and eating bread about a year ago now and must admit I don't miss it at all I usually have HM soup to drink with crackers Ryvita or crackerbread or rice cakes spread with phily type cheese and slice cucumber or tomato on top Four of these plus my soup fills my up until dinner in the evening breakfast is usually bran flakes with chopped banana or porridge

OH will sometimes make me up a prawn salad if he's making himself up a pack up for a long shift-it tends to have a bit of everything in it.

Soup and a crusty french stick is always good
Home made pancakes - fillings can be sweet or savoury
Grilled tomatoes on toast (with lots of salt and pepper)
I sometimes do a homemade version of a bacon and egg MacMuffin
