welcome back!
Hope things are improving for you.
Try the YNAB (You Need A Budget) tool.
Best money I ever spent and gets regular endorsements here.
I'm sure others will be along in a while with spreadsheet alternatives - but I found YNAB to be a complete eye-opener, and it DOES keep me on track.:)Debt at LBM £60k (July 09) Jan14 £5k Feb14 £4615
Mar14 £4379 End Mar 14 £4035 :T

OK, I've been bored all afternoon, so I thought I would have a bash. You can download a budget xls spreadsheet from here (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/58m07i0jklqny0e/n3c1E0QUVw)
Note, this is purely for budgeting and imitates what YNAB does (after a fashion) but isnt a full replacement for that. Basically, if you fill in the categories it will autocalculate across the year for you. You can add new categories by simply highlighting a row and then right-click and insert. All the formulas will automatically adjust across the board for you.
Let me know what you think and if you want any changes or have any suggestions to make it better.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

rather than use a spreadsheet, Microsoft Money is brilliant..I got a link from a posting on this site..you can make all your own categories and see which areas you are spending / areas of potential savings. it is more fun than a computer game.0
